We need your help!

Along with giving people the right information of what can and can’t go in curbside recycling, we will check bins around neighborhoods for contamination in curbside recycling bins. We need your help for this important part of the initiative! Giving people direct feedback of how they are recycling will have the greatest impact on changing behaviors and teaching people how to Recycle Right!

We will check recycling bins for contamination ahead of the recycling truck. Bins that are contaminated will get an “Oops” tag that will have six categories under which the contamination can fall under. This program will be running one day a week beginning in August 2020. The day will vary based on what neighborhoods will be inspected. In September, we will be going out on Tuesdays from 7am-9am.

Join our team, change and inspire residents to Recycle Right in Morgantown.

Before going out around neighborhoods to inspect bins we will have a required 1-hour training (different day) to teach you what is and isn’t contamination, data entry, safety protocols and neighborhood routes. Trainings will be given on an as needed basis.

Volunteers can volunteer one day or for as many weeks as they desire. All volunteers will be provided with PPE and we will  practice social distancing protocols. Volunteers will need to sign a volunteer waiver and undergo a background check.
