How dry does a recyclable have to be before going in the bin?

Republic Services recommends no more than 1 teaspoon of liquid in a container.

Liquid and food residue can easily contaminate paper, newspaper and cardboard. Please rinse any food residue out of containers and give them a good shake to remove as much liquid as possible before putting them in the recycling bin.
